artistic wire 22 gauge - non-tarnish brass

Beadalon supplies high-quality wire under the name 'Artistic Wire'. It can be divided into a few different base materials: copper, stainless steel and brass. Most Artistic Wire colors are originally made of copper, with a colored layer. The advantage of artistic wire is that the color layer is less likely to be damaged. The diameter is stated in gauges. The higher the number, the thinner the wire.

The base material of this color type is brass. This type of metal is slightly harder than copper, so you need to use a little more force when bending. therefore, this wire is described as MEDIUM/HALF HARD. Tarnish resistant brass has a transparent, tarnish-resistant coating added. With Bare yellow brass, no color or protective layer has been added over this wire. This wire will patina or naturally oxidize and darken with time, creating a vintage look.

Artistic Wire colors are very consistent, though perfect color matching is not always possible. When comparing different gauges of the same color, some color variation may be noticeable. Some Artistic Wire hues have a tint range within +-10%, which they consider acceptable.

If you want to be sure the colors in your order will match, please leave a remark when placing your order so that we can take this into account when gathering your order. When this is not possible, we will contact you via e-mail or phone.
