These soft foam mats are actually indispensable for a threading work. The intention is to place place the seed beads that you want to string on the beading mat. The biggest advantage of these threading mats are 6 separate compartments. These are reallu usefull because you can put each color in seperate compartment. In this way colors are sorted from each other and it is easier to thread the pattern correctly. You can also easily pick up the beads using the needle without them jumping/rolling away. What is good because different colors will not get mixed up. Once you're done, you can easily pick up the beads using the triangles and then store the mat away.
